First joint catfish fishing with Community Euro-Som

First meeting in 2009 and joint catfish fishing of the members of our club Euro-Som – behind us lie emotions, catfish slime and unforgettable moments!

The sun generously flooded the French fields, the thermometer stubbornly climbed to +30°C. Unfortunately, the vagaries of the air pressure played against us: The bearded giant were in no hurry to make themselves known on our catfish rods. But could that dampen our spirits?

Day one: exploration and an unexpected trophy

Even before the official start, Sergej ( som333 ) and his friend Theo had time to “warm up”: A modest young catfish landed in the net, another escaped – the tension rose!
In the evening, all participants were gathered together. Licenses bought, bait fish ready. The embers of the grill were glowing and the wind, like a rogue, carried the smell of shashlik across the evening river. Koen Janssens, an expert on the local catfish waters, also joined our merry group.

Then – the climax! In the middle of getting to know each other and eating juicy meat, Sergei felt a violent jolt. A fight, adrenaline and... 222 cm pure power! The trophy catfish, with a shiny back, surrendered and allowed itself to be tamed for a quick photo shoot. A souvenir photo - and the giant returned to the depths to continue its tribe.

Day two: Clonk, dropouts and international humor

The next morning began with preparing the new catfish rigs and exchanging stories. Towards the evening, Wadim and I tried our luck with the catfish Clonk. I tapped the melody with Clonk, Wadim held the vertical rod. The result? A small catfish on mussel meat and two bitter large catfish dropouts - my heart stopped!

In the evening, Theo, Sergei’s friend, wrote himself into the story: The first French catfish his career! Despite the language barrier, his smile spoke volumes – fishing connects better than words!

The Dream Team: Laughter Through Catfish Slime

Alexander ( Stude ) – the entertainer, Andrej ( Printon ) – the wise “grandfather” with sparks in his eyes, Alexei ( Nikojan ) and brother Senka – masters of bizarre anecdotes. Thanks to them, even breaks between bites turned into comedy shows!

Thank you guys for these days! The French river was defeated, but… Euro-Som was just beginning!
